Held on International Day of the Midwife and during International Nurses Week, this two-hour event marks the formal launch of the 2017 Northern Territory Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards. The after-work event that includes light refreshments, sees nurses, midwives, their colleagues, friends and families attend to hear the finalists for each of the specialist nursing and midwifery categories announced.

The awards presentation ceremony is celebrated by a prestigious Gala Dinner event that sees award recipients for each category, including the overall Northern Territory Nurse/Midwife of the Year formally announced. This black-tie event is an opportunity to shine the light on all nurses and midwives working in services across the Northern Territory and thank them for all they do.

Held at Darwin’s premier venue the Darwin Convention Centre, the Gala Dinner is hosted by the Northern Territory Minister for Health. Popular Darwin radio host Katie Woolf will be Master of Ceremony. Guests are treated to celebratory drinks, a delectable three-course dinner, awards ceremony and live entertainment.
